Buying a Gun Online

First Time Gun Buyers (Please Read)

Firearm can not and will not be shipped to your house.
Firearms can only be shipped to our location or another ffl of your choosing.
Once firearm shows up you will need to come to our location and do your background check the cost is $37.19 (This can not be done online and can only be done in store we will need signatures and fingerprints.)

Everything you need to know about purchasing firearms online

This section was created to clarify a few details and help better define the process of purchasing a firearm online so you know what to expect when you purchase your next firearm. No matter where you live within the United States, we must ship your firearm to a Federal Firearm Licensed Dealer (FFL Dealer). Don’t forget to check all local and state laws prior to placing any order. You must be at least 21 years of age to purchase a firearm. You must also be a legal resident of the state in which you wish to transfer the firearm (The only exception to this would be active duty military personnel where you would need your CAT Card or DOD Id and permanent duty station orders). ** Disclaimer: Straw Purchasing is ILLEGAL and Highland Guns in no way condones this act. A Straw Purchase is the act of purchasing a firearm intended for another person.**

Purchasing a firearm online:

Choose a firearm and complete your purchase by following the steps below.

  • Create an account or log in.
  • Add product(s) to cart.
  • You can enter your address as the shipping address firearms will automatically ship to our location.
  • Unless you chosen another FFL then put there address and company name.
  • Enter your billing and credit card information. Please note: You must be a resident of the state in which you wish to transfer the firearm and can only transfer firearm to the billing name.
  • Review and submit order.
  • We will then send you a email of your order conformation. (Email may go into your spam folder, please check and mark our email safe.)

    • If you want your firearm shipped to another FFL, please arrange the transfer with the FFL Dealer (You will use this dealer as the shipping address when you place your order).

  • Contact the dealer and let them know you would like them to receive a firearm for transfer from Highland Guns.
  • Email us at highlandguns@gmail.com to confirm that you are using another FFL

    • Once your firearm arrives at our location:

  • We will email you notifying you that your firearm is here.
  • You will need to come to our location to fill out your paperwork for background check.
  • After the 10 day waiting period and you pass the background check, you are free to take your firearm home!

    • If you are choosing to have your firearm shipped to another FFL:

  • Watch the tracking information that we provide you.
  • Once the order has arrived at the FFL dealer of your choosing, call your FFL for a good time to fill out your paperwork for background check.
  • After the 10 day waiting period and you pass the background check, you are free to take your firearm home!

    • Credentials Needed To Start Paperwork

    Please Bring:

  • Current California Id (w/current physical address if your id states Federal Limits Apply you will need to bring your birth certificate or passport)
  • Firearm Safety Card (if you don't have a firearm safety card you can get that here, It's a 30 question test for an additional $25)
  • 2nd Proof of Residency (i.e. valid vehicle registration, utility bill - electric, gas or water)
  • $37.19 for the cost of background check.
